Local Area Information

The Coln Valley is a walkers and cyclists paradise. There are footpaths in every direction from Winson village, taking you across the most stunning countryside. The bike riding is also fantastic with plenty of quiet country lanes.  And if you're attending a wedding at Cripps Barn or Stone Barn, we are only a stone's through away.

Bibury is only 2.5 miles away, famous for its Medieval cottages Arlington Row and the trout farm, where you can catch your own and bring it home for supper!

Shopping and culture.  Visit Regency Cheltenham, famous for it's Georgian Architecture, excellent shopping and wonderful restaurants.  Or you may prefer Cirencester, famed for it's Roman amphitheatre, classic Cotswold stone houses, bijoux shops, Cirencester Park and outdoor pool (from May to September). 

Food and Drink

Good pub within 5 mins drive or 15 mins walk  thestump.co.uk serves, mainly pizza, pasta and salads.

Northleach is 3.5 miles away, with a general store and excellent butchers. The Wheatsheaf Inn, Northleach is a good gastro pub - booking advised.  The Sherborne Arms New to Northleach, excellent food and service.

Barnsley is 3 miles away, with Barnsley House Hotel famed for it's gardens designed by Rosemary Verey.

Opposite Barnsley House you have The Boot which serves great food with the freshest vegetables grown in Barnsley House garden.

In the pretty Barringtons is The Fox at Barrington, good food and beautiful gardens next to the River Windrush.

Stow on the Wold, very pretty market town with some lovely shops and places to eat.  Our favourite, and you'll need to book in advance is The Old Butchers

The Swan Inn Bibury and Catherine Wheel Pub are both good for food.

Both Bibury and Barnsley are within walking/bike riding distance.

Slightly further afield (but all within 1/2 hour drive) you can visit Cheltenham, Bourton on the Water, Burford, Stow on the Wold, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Cotswold Farm Park (Adam's farm), Dalesford Organic shop and restaurant - any many more!

Why not visit the iconic travelling Giffords Circus, will known for it's family friendly traditional fun throughout the summer in the Cotswolds.
